Skier Membership

The Mt Sopris Nordic Council - a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization - has stewarded “Community-Powered Skiing” at Spring Gulch since 1986. Since the beginning, we’ve been on a mission to provide a high quality cross-country ski area in the lower Roaring Fork Valley at no cost for daily use; however, it is not a no-cost operation.

Roughly $150,000 per year goes into the purchasing and maintenance of specialized grooming equipment, staff wages, insurance, utilities, web hosting, and the various other costs that keep our skis kicking and gliding on groomed snow all winter long.

In recent years, over 400 individuals and businesses have become members, covering over 50% of our annual expenses and helping us grow as an organization, expand our trail system, and enhance the quality of grooming. In short, providing high-quality winter fun in a beautiful place for local skiers!

It’s a community effort and we are grateful to have you in our corner!
